Crystalline silicon terrestrial photovoltaic (PV) modules – Design qualification and type approval
The expected lifetime of a photovoltaic module is generally 20 to 30 years, and therefore reliability tests are used to verify the aging condition of the photovoltaic module after 20 years. The most commonly referenced document for testing is IEC61215, and it has several extended specifications including JISC8917, GB9535, and UL1703. Tests specified in IEC61215 are applicable to crystalline silicon solar modules while thin-film solar modules require IEC61646.
